Our Value
At St Combs Community Church, when we gather, we aim for praise and worship that is directed to God rather than songs about God; worship that is corporate yet intimate, refreshing and real. Worship is God's highest priority therefore it should be our highest priority. We use music that is contemporary and invites God to come and move among us as we answer the call, engage and express our adoration to him in a way that has a destination.

How do we do it?
At St Combs Community Church we believe that worship must have the Destination of meeting with God. In order to reach this destination we have adopted a method of Worship known as "the 5 phases of Worship":
At St Combs Community Church we believe that worship must have the Destination of meeting with God. In order to reach this destination we have adopted a method of Worship known as "the 5 phases of Worship"
Phase 1: Call to Worship
We begin the worship time with a song that is upbeat and calls people into worship and focuses the people on God.
Phase 2: Engagement
At this point people need to be led to a place where they start the journey toward the destination and we “connect”.
Phase 3: Expression
This is the time when we journey between upbeat praise songs towards more intimate songs. The place where we express our love individually as a group with intimate worship song(s).
Phase 4: Visitation
We end this time of worship with an upbeat song that encourages people to keep thinking corporately. The time in the service where we have praised, worshipped and engaged with God.
During this phase we have reached our destination and are at a point where God is visiting us with prophetic songs and words for encouraging the corporate church.
There are two identified kinds of prophesy that happen during this time:
Spontaneous words resulting from an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. They are in first person terms (I am your God, I have come, etc) with no long explanation but rather a flow of words as a result of visitation and overflow in worship, these words can be sang or spoken.
Dialogue words are the result of thoughts, pictures, observations, etc and are prayerfully thought through as opposed to spontaneous. They are in third person (I believe God is saying, God is reminding me of, etc) with some brief interpretation and application of the word.
For prophetic flow, dialogue words are better given after spontaneous words however both are of equal importance in building up the corporate church.
This prophetic time is to allow God to speak personally to his church so any word given should be inspired by the Holy Spirit as we come into His presence. This is not a time in the service for prayers or reading directly from the scriptures, it is a time for prophetic encouragement.
Phase 5: Transformation
We ask the church to respond to the prophetic songs and words in order that they judge them, buy into, or own, the words and apply them to their lives, which transforms them.
